KIMCHI PREMIUM LIVE
Korea vs. global BTC/ETH spread, second by second
COSUN tracks Upbit, Bithumb and Korbit KRW prices against Binance and Bybit USDT quotes, converts through the live USD/KRW rate, and surfaces the top premium/discount coins every 5 seconds.
Kimchi Premium is the price gap between Korean exchanges (Upbit / Bithumb / Korbit) and global markets, driven by KRW capital controls and local demand cycles. A sustained premium above 2% has historically preceded major retail cycles; a discount often marks capitulation.

FAQ
Is arbitraging the Kimchi Premium legal?
Moving crypto is not restricted, but moving KRW capital in and out of Korean banks to close the trade is subject to strict FX reporting rules. Treat this as an informational tracker, not a green light to do cross-border arbitrage without local legal advice.
Which USD/KRW rate do you use?
We use the interbank spot mid, sourced from a real-time FX feed. This lands within 5-15 KRW of the market rate a Korean retail user actually sees, so the calculated premium mirrors the on-screen reality on Upbit.
Which coins are covered?
BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, DOGE and the top-30 Upbit KRW pairs. If a coin is not listed on both a Korean and a global venue, it is excluded.
Do you support historical replay?
Yes. Charts go back to the launch date of the coin on the tracked exchanges, minute-resolution for majors and hour-resolution for the long tail.
